Alex Baltzegar is a passionate advocate for free enterprise with a diverse background in political strategy, campaign management, and non-profit work. He has managed and worked on over a dozen campaigns, including U.S. Congressional, statewide, and state legislative races. Alex also served as a staffer in both the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives, before working in political media as a statehouse reporter for the Carolina Journal.
At the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation (NCFREE), Alex is focused on empowering business leaders by providing them with the political intelligence and strategic resources necessary for their businesses to navigate a complex political landscape. His unwavering belief in NCFREE’s mission is driven by the conviction that business leaders play a pivotal role in promoting policies that limit government intervention and support free enterprise.
Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Economics and Political Science and is a graduate of the EA Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders. He resides in Apex, North Carolina, with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Buckley. In their free time, you can find them dining in downtown Apex, rooting on the Tar Heels, and attending Reach Fellowship Church.
