Chad Thomas joined TRC in 2021 following 30 years of service inside North Carolina state government. Prior state agency roles as project supervisor and research coordinator provided Thomas opportunities to forge strategic partnerships in the environmental sector. Formal training in grievance mediation and conflict resolution allows Thomas to work through
contentious situations to find solutions to complex problems.

Thomas has a Master of Science degree in Fisheries Biology from Tennessee Technological University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from North Carolina State University. A resident of Elizabeth City, Thomas enjoys hunting and fishing, and can often be heard on fall Friday nights broadcasting high school football on the radio.
